Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Cook and stir beef in a large skillet over medium heat until crumbly and evenly browned, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain grease and set aside.
Step 2
Combine beans, water, tomato sauce, corn, and tomato paste together in a large pot; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low.
Step 3
Add jalapeños, habanero, onion, and garlic to a food processor and blend until finely chopped. Transfer to large pot with bean mixture; mix in cooked beef.
Step 4
Stir in masa flour until incorporated; season with chili powder, cayenne pepper, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Cook at a simmer, stirring occasionally, 45 minutes to 1 hour.

  • 2 jalapeno peppers
  • 3 tablespoons masa harina flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 red onion
